#30. Back in the Game: Zac Efron
Born:
October 18, 1987

Our silver screen fix of Zac was a little quiet this year, but that’s because he was busy with heaps of projects set for release in 2012. Thankfully, we’ve managed to get our 2011 Zac fix before the year is over with New Year’s Eve hitting cinemas this month. After that, bring on 2012 because Zac’s got heaps of different projects up his sleeve and we can’t wait for the world to see him as more than “that High School Musical boy” and teen heart-throb!

What’s Next: Early 2012 brings Zac as marine Logan Thibault in the film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel The Lucky One. Then you can hear Zac in the animated Dr Seuss’s The Lorax and catch him The Paperboy, Liberal Arts and Heartland. Zac’s also got his own production company called ‘Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Prods’, so no doubt we’ll be some productions from him too!

It was about time we started seeing this guy almost regularly on our TV screens again!

11. Decade of Dedication: Allison Mack
Born:
July 29, 1982

After 10 seasons, in 2011 we said goodbye to Smallville and along with it, one of our most loved characters Chloe Sullivan. Over this past decade, Chloe’s portrayer Allison Mack, has become a firm favourite at Portrait and it’s not hard to see why – she’s truly passionate about what she does and fans can see that’s not something you can fake, whether it be her work for organisations, Parvati Creative Inc., or acting. In 2011, post Smallville, we saw Allison in the indie film Marilyn, and then take to the stage in productions of Apple Cove and Love, Loss and What I Wore.

But if 2011 has shown us anything, it’s that Hilary’s all grown up now with the announcement that the married star is going to be a mother! Other exciting Hilary stuff in 2011 included the sequel to Elixir titled Devoted and the film Bloodworth.

#9. Solo Man: Joe Jonas
Born:
August 15, 1989

He’s taken the lead vocals with the Jonas Brothers, but up until 2011, we hadn’t seen Joe Jonas as a solo artist. That all changed this year with the release of his debut album Fastlife, which sees a different sound to the pop-tastic Jonas Brothers music we’re all used to. Armed with his solo music, Joe also started touring around the States in 2011 to promote it.

What’s Next: As well as continuing with his solo career, Joe’s heading back to guest star in Hot in Cleveland and is also producing and starring in a movie, but that’s in very early stages so it’ll be awhile to we see it. And of course there’s the Jonas Brothers, Joe has said he misses working with his bros, so once they all get their solo stuff out of their system, we’re sure we’ll see them back together again.

When Pair of Kings first aired, we were excited to see some of our fave Disney stars together along with some new faces. 2011 marked the show’s second season, and proved to be just has hilarious and action packed as the first. The fact that the cast are so willing to go along with all the crazy things that happen on the show is admirable!

What’s Next: Although it hasn’t been announced, we’re keeping positive for a third season of Pair of Kings. We also wouldn’t mind seeing another season of Mitchel Musso hosting PrankStars, and we hear that Doc Shaw has some upcoming projects that he can’t reveal just yet. In the meantime, we’ll settle for checking out Kelsey Chow in The Wine of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man.

She stayed true to her music and waited for fate to take its course. In 2011 we saw the release of Reloaded, as well as The Basement Recordings the digital album collaboration with brother Brendan. Season 11 of Degrassi: The Next Generation also saw a new theme song by Alexz. Acting wise, Alexz also appeared in The Listener and Haven.

For those of you living under a rock in 2011, Joey is part of the awesome theatre group Team StarKid. Still don’t ring a bell? They did a hilarious fan parody musical called A Very Potter Musical a few years back and Joey played Ron Weasley. StarKid productions had a new production this year called Starship and recently toured around 14 cities in the States in one month. You may also know of StarKid since one of its members is a guy named Darren Criss who’s now on a show called Glee. And the lightbulbs go off! #1. Jared Padalecki
Born:
July 19, 1982

Jared, Jared, Jared. What can we say about Jared? As a constant presence in Top 30 for YEARS we’re not really sure what we can say about it that you guys don’t already know about considering you did vote like crazy (and boy do we mean CRAZY) to get him to number one. Seven seasons in on Supernatural and we’ve watched this guy’s acting knock it out of the park – he started off as the goody two shoes brother and now seven years later he’s been to hell and back and a trip to the dark side along the way. We also love that Jared is a lot of fun in RL, especially now that he’s got a Twitter! Jared joining Twitter is a definite 2011 highlight – the things he posts are so damn hilarious! Please don’t ever change Jared!

What’s Next: More Supernatural goodness as the show’s 7th season continues, but more excitingly is the news that Jared’s going to be a daddy in 2012! What a lucky kid they’ll grow up to be!
