Sound Is… I've been noticing a trend with music lately. It seems like every musician is depressed. And, if they're not, their music sure makes it seem that way. It's like every song on the radio or television is about either breaking up, dying, or losing dreams. Frankly, I'm sick of it. Thankfuly, so is Austin Nivarel. Austin, a singer/songwriter from Rice Lake, Wisconsin sites everyone from A Rocket To The Moon to The Almost as influences, so it's not surprising that his music sound encompasses more than one style, and therefore will appeal to a wide variety of listeners. Austin's pretty young- he's only a junior in high school. So, I was surprised by his mature outlook on life, love, and music. When asked why he writes songs, he responded by saying that he tries to deliver a positive message, and that he "Loves to make people happy". Hopefuly his upbeat attitude will rub off on some of the more angsty, brooding singers. Anyone looking for a refreshing change in their current music situation should be sure to check out his songs, especialy "All I Need" a true modern-day love song.
