MySpace Act Of The Week: Florence and the Machine
Sound Is…
Members… Florence and the Machine is a brand new act from London, UK. The band has recently released their debut album "Lungs", which includes their singles "Kiss with a fist" and their MTV hit "Rabbit Heart (Raise it up). Florence and the Machine, who are nominated for an MTV EMA Award as the "Best New Act" (UK/Ireland), were the opening act on the tour of the band MGMT. The harp, which is played by Tom Monger, and the lyrics by Florence are creating a haunting melody, which is perfectly shown in "Rabbit Heart (Raise it up)" and "You've got the Love". Florence and the Machine's myspace playlist includes "You've got the Love", "Drumming Song","Rabbit Heart (Raise it up)", "Cosmic Love", "Are you hurting the one you love", "Howl", two remixes of the song "Drumming song" and a remix of the song "You've got the Love". I recommend you to listen to the "You've got the Love - The XX" - Remix and compare it to the original version because the remix is totally different from the original version and sounds like it is an another song and not only a remix. Same goes with the two remixes of "Drumming Song". All in all, the time you spend on listening to their music, turns out to be worth it. When you listen to the music for the first time, it might sounds a bit strange to you, but the more you listen to it, the more you like it. So checking it out, won't be a waste of time.
