Look out; this article contains some serious lyric-age below, readers. Why? Because Sarah Solovay's lyrics are incredibly easy to relate to. She makes you want to shout out: "Exactly, you get me!" when her music escapes from your speakers. This New York City high schooler writes, sings, and plays songs almost any teen girl can relate to. Remember the girl in high school that only cared about clothes, guys, and her appearance? Sarah Solovay proves that girl had intelligence, a big heart, and major potential in the song "All She Could Be":
"She's gorgeous, the picture of perfection
Every guy wants her to be his girlfriend
Ever girl longs to be her reflection
And she knows these two things
She buys low cut dresses and six inch high heels
Wears so so much makeup,
what has she got to conceal?
Well,
She's smart but she doesn't do a thing
She could say a lot, but she don't
She keeps her mouth shut
In her heart she knows she's got more to bring
She could love a lot
But she don't
She keeps her heart shut
What if she could open it up, what if she could open it up?"
In the ever-so-addictive "Gone", Solovay expresses a relationship falling apart, and the difficulty of saying goodbye:
"The problem with romances
there are no second chances"
The lyrics aren't the only thing easy to relate to: so is Sarah Solovay. Her laid back "About Me" description states that she's addicted to cookie dough, rain, complimenting people, and making fun of awkward situations (including her own). Under her musical influences, she states that she sounds like "the love child of The Killers, Coldplay, and Michelle Branch". Sarah Solovay is sure to rise in popularity very quickly with her down-to-earth attitude. Go check her out and leave a comment!
