Myspace Act of the Week: Love You To Death
Sound is…
Members are… Feeling energetic? The quirky, upbeat songs of Love You To Death - formerly The Pettit Project - should fit your temperament perfectly. It's clear to anyone that's familiar with their music that there is hardly a somber one in the bunch, something that is more than remedied by the infectious songs that they do have to offer. Their lyrics tell stories of love lost, pined for and even planned, with each new song guaranteed to be just as catchy as the last. You might have caught their appearance on Canadian television show Radio Free Roscoe, in which they showcased one of their earlier songs, but they have since continued making music to satisfy a well hidden but nevertheless devoted fan base. My personal favourite and the one that I find stuck in my head the most often would have to be 99 Lives, a song about a guy trying to make a girl fall in love with him and the steps he takes to do it, complete with full video game metaphors. Its cheery beats, clever lyrics and all-around inviting feel make it a perfect example of just how great this band is. If that particular song isn't your style, there are still plenty more to choose from. Be sure to give them a listen whenever you get the chance, especially if you're planning a party and need music. Love You To Death has been together since 1999, making quite a few appearances here and there, and though their lineup has changed drastically over the years, their music has stayed just as upbeat and catchy as when they started making it.
