Myspace Band of the Week: Chase Coy

Sound is…
Acoustic/Folk

Members are…
Chase Coy, acoustic guitar and all other various instruments

Chase Coy has this certain earthy tone to his music that makes him especially unique. This indie acoustic/folk artist makes you want to take a stroll outside under fluffy clouds, then just plop down to take a nap in the grass. Seventeen year old Chase Coy originally under the name "Dear Juliet", has a nice sized Myspace fan base of over 46,000 (and it's still growing every day). Chase Coy already has two EP's out, has hit over 3 million myspace plays, and is still writing plus recording full speed ahead. You'll be able to relate to Chase Coy's lyrics so well, you'll be singing along and tapping your foot to his acoustic guitar rhythms in no time. The chorus of "All Those Nights" will quickly turn into a Chase Coy junkie:

All those nights we danced by the moonlight,
conversations about nothing 'till midnight.
You and I huddled close till the daylight came.
Remember the colors reflected in your eyes,
the scene painted golden,
as the sun rises over you and me, darling.

But not only is this artist busy promoting himself: he just started an indie record label (along with Evan Smith) titled "Bird on a Wire Records". The goal of their record label is to spread the word of other talented indie musicians just like Chase Coy. Chase Coy is a one man band, and plays all of the instruments heard in his songs, and of course he provides the hypnotizing vocals. When you check out Chase Coy's profile, make 100% sure to check out his Death Cab For Cutie cover- "I Will Follow You Into The Dark".

P.s If waiting for a Chase Coy EP to come in the mail is too long to wait for you, his music will be available on iTunes sometime this month!
